welcome

Dear Lasley Families,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

We have been in school for about 2 weeks and both teachers and students have settled in nicely.   As I walk into classrooms, I see excellent teaching and student engagement taking place. Routines and expectations have been established and students are excited about learning. I am a very hands-on principal, and your child can expect to see me in their classrooms on a daily basis. I also believe strongly in keeping families informed; so every month I will communicate with you via this newsletter about important events and issues at Lasley. I also want to remind you that I have an open door policy. Please feel free to visit or to call me anytime you have a question or concern about your child or anything that is happening in school.

Lasley has an outstanding faculty and staff. Teachers are committed to providing a quality education for your children. They follow the District’s rigorous, standards based curriculum and consistently use effective strategies/techniques and technology in their daily instruction. They also care about their students and treat them with dignity and respect. As Principal, I am very proud of the staff, and I feel honored to be working together, side by side, for the benefit of your children.

As parents, you are another key component in the educational process. We need your involvement and support by reinforcing the importance of education at home. You can do this by checking your student’s daily planner and Friday folder, monitoring homework, providing a quiet time and place to study, increasing computer time and engaging with your student about his/her learning- thus developing good study habits. I invite you to visit our school often and actively participate in 1:1 conferences and family engagement meetings.

As always, I thank you for entrusting us with the care and education of your child(ren).

Respectfully,

Mrs. Lisa Nolan
