Meet the Principal
Dear Lasley Elementary School Families and Community,
It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to a new school year. My name is Lauren LeMarinel, and I am honored to be entering my fifth year as the principal of Lasley Elementary School. Each year at Lasley brings growth, resilience, and a deeper commitment to the values that make our school a special place for students and families.
Throughout my entire career, I have worked in Title I schools, driven by a deep belief in equity and access for all students. I’ve had the privilege of serving in leadership roles across both elementary and middle schools, which has given me a broad perspective on how to support learners at every stage. These experiences have shaped the way I lead—with empathy, high expectations, and a strong focus on building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.
Over the past few years, we have focused intentionally on building a strong sense of belonging and collaboration—not only among our staff, but across the entire Lasley community. I’m proud to share that our students are noticing that effort. When we ask them how they are doing, they believe we genuinely want to know. In fact, our students’ perception of being cared for has increased by 9% from last year, and we are currently 4% above the district average in this area. That speaks volumes about the dedication of our teachers and staff to make every student feel seen and valued.
Our efforts to partner with families are also making a meaningful impact. We’ve seen an 8% increase in families who feel that Lasley is the right school fit for their child—a reflection of the trust, communication, and shared goals we’ve nurtured together.
At Lasley, we are rooted in the belief that our school is a second home for students and families. We are here not just to teach, but to connect, care, and support. Whether your child is in our ASD program, part of our Dual Language community, part of our All-English track, or joining us as a newcomer, they are part of a school that values their identity, their voice, and their potential.
As we prepare for the 2025–2026 school year, I’m filled with optimism for what’s ahead. I remain committed to listening and learning, and to leading in a way that lifts up our students, families, and staff alike. Lasley is a vibrant community, and I am so grateful to be a part of it with you.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. We look forward to another incredible year together.
Warmly,
Lauren LeMarinel
