Sixth Grade

Ms. Dix Hi! My name is Rhianna Cohn. This is my first-year teaching! I graduated from Western Governors University with a bachelors in Elementary Education in April of 2019. I grew up in Colorado and was a student at Lasley from kindergarten all the way through sixth grade. I am excited to be back at Lasley as a teacher this time! While in college, I moved out of state for two years and followed my fiancé to Iowa so he could get started on his career. We are so happy to be back in CO where we both grew up. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with family. I have a fiancé named Ryan, a dog named Rylee, and a cat named Kitty. I am very close with my siblings and parents and spend as much time as I can with them.
This year, I cannot wait to see how my students grow and develop into better readers, writers, and mathematicians.

Mr. Paliga Mr. Paliga grew up in Chicago until he moved to Northwest Indiana. When he was in Middle School, he had a teacher show him how much fun learning can be. This inspired Mr. Paliga to become a teacher so that he could share the joys of learning with others. He then went to Purdue University in order to get his endorsement in Elementary Education.  In his free time, he likes to watch The Rockies or Purdue sports. He enjoys cooking, skiing on the mountains, and reading a good book. Most importantly, he loves teaching sixth-graders.

Ms. Scopes  Hello! I’m Ms. Scopes and I am excited about all the adventures that I’m going to take my sixth graders on this year.

After spending a few years working for a global family business, I ventured off to the Northeast to work in account management for a company that created, designed, and built innovative workplace environments. After getting my masters in education I am now fulfilling a new dream of teaching. This will be my fifth year here at Lasley Elementary and the laughter in the classroom has already begun.

When I am not at school you can probably find me at an airport as I love to travel. My family is from England so you can often find me in Europe, sailing around islands, or discovering all the beautiful places here in the United States. Risk taking is the name of my game and one great risk I have taken is moving to many different places such as California, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and Colorado. I enjoy attending live sporting events. My favorites are baseball, basketball, and football games. You may even see my dog Sunnie and I walking around the streets of Lakewood.

The thing I love most about teaching is having past students stop by to say hi with a big smile on their face and updating me on their life after Lasley. Go Lions!
