Letter from Principal

Lisa Nolan

Dear Lasley Community,

Thank you for being such an important part of our Lasley family. We have so many reasons to celebrate at Lasley as we move into the 2018-2019 school year. Our school has a long and successful tradition for making substantial gains in all areas of a child's life. We have numerous points of pride that distinguish us as a world class school.

At Lasley, we believe in developing the whole child. Our goal is to enrich both a child's mind and body. Nearly, every child that graduates from our school has substantially improved: academically, physically, and socially. A core value of our school is that every Lasley alumni has acquired skills that will benefit him/her for the 21st century. Lasley is aligned with Jeffco's 2020 vision that promotes a well-rounded education for ALL students, thus having a positive impact in the global community.

During the 2017-2018 academic year, our students made amazing academic growth.  Yet, we are always seeking new ways to build capacity with our students and develop our skills to make our school community even stronger. For instance, this year, Lasley is a one to one I-pad school. Therefore, every child can extend their learning in core subjects like math, reading and writing by using the latest technology on a daily basis.

We pride ourselves on our rich culture. A substantial majority of our teachers are identified by the state of Colorado as highly qualified in working with children and families from an English as a Second Language background. Our school has an outstanding partnership with our Parent/Teacher Association (PTA). Together, we have raised hundreds of dollars that have been used to directly enrich the learning experiences of every child.

We believe that learning cannot fully occur if there is not an environment for excellence. Lasley has a full time social worker that helps with our students' social and emotional needs. We also have newer playground equipment for our students to stay healthy and safe and we provide healthy snacks free of charge to every student. Our school focuses on positive behavior and practices the learning profile language adopted from Alameda High Schools International Baccalaureate program.

Since safety is of our utmost priority for students, please support our traffic pattern in dropping off and picking up students. Please respectfully follow the direction of staff who are supervising students before and after school. In addition, if you plan to visit school, please sign in at the office and get a name tag.

Communication with our families is very important. Our monthly Lasley newsletter will be available on this website. If you would like a printed copy of the monthly newsletter, a few printed copies will be available in the office.

Whether we are welcoming your family back to Lasley, or meeting you for the first time, we look forward to working together throughout the year to ensure an engaging learning experience.I look forward to partnering with you and your child.
