Letter from Principal

Dear Lasley Parents,

In an attempt to maintain teaching and learning, Jeffco has asked each school to develop a remote learning protocol. In response to school closures, Lasley’s teachers have created plans for their classrooms’ learning for next week, March 16-20th. This will support your child in maintaining their learning while Jeffco schools are closed.

Your child’s teacher will be sending home a sheet that explains how online learning can take place and how to check in with them. You and your child will have access to the teacher through email and other online platforms, depending on how the teacher designs the remote learning. Our teachers will be taking attendance. This will be verified by a parent emailing the teacher, the child completing work online or evidence of student time online. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher. Lasley staff will be available Monday to:

  • Check out prescriptions
  • Distribute devices for students absent on 3/13
  • Distribute classwork for students absent on 3/13

While your child(ren) are learning from home, the following structures will be a helpful support:

  • Have books for your child(ren) to read for fun
  • Set up a place for learning from home
  • Give your child(ren) time to play outside

If your family does not have internet, please come see Cindy Fiegenbaum on Monday, March 16th. We might be able to help you by providing a hot spot. If online access is impossible, your child will have other activities offline that their teacher has assigned. You can document in writing the days your child worked on these in order to have them counted as present on that school day.

I know this is a difficult time for families and our larger community. I wish you and your loved ones good health and peace.
